Borrisokane and District Vintage club was established in 2007. From its inception the club has gone from strength to strength with over 40 family memberships in 2013. From its launch, Michael Comerford has been an excellent Club Chairperson. The club organises many local events each year and many of our members travel all over the country to attend other vintage events. At all these events members can proudly display their much loved vehicles and equipment. Many laborious hours go into restoring and maintaining these vehicles and equipment in their pristine condition.
Since 2007 the club has organised its Annual Threshing & Vintage Day each September which also includes the much loved Dog Show. This is a great family day out with many visitors travelling from far and near to view the vintage show and its many other attractions. Without the help and assistance from committee, club members and many family members and friends, this club’s event would not be such a success each year.
Each year the club organises The St Patrick’s Day Parade and also members attend other parades locally including Portumna, Nenagh and Lorrha just to mention a few. This is another great event to get all the community organising floats. A big thank you to all.
This year the club organised a very successful Easter Parade (despite the inclement weather) including an Easter Bonnet Competition, Easter Window Display and the very popular Children’s Easter Egg Hunt.
Throughout the year the club organised and attend many vintage road runs.
Since 2007 the club has been very successful in fundraising for many local and national organisations including North Tipperary Hospice, The Clarke Memorial Hall Restoration Fund, Diabetes Federation of Ireland, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Relay for Life, Tipperary and St Anne’s Roscrea. plus many more.
Without the continued hard work and dedication of our committee, club members, family and friends this club would not be such a success. Continued success from Borrisokane and District Vintage Club to all.
